Hello. My name is Cecily and I’m excited to be your Wivenhoe Green Party candidate for the Colchester City Council elections. I was born and bred in the area, went to school in Colchester and moved to Wivenhoe in 2020, after a 7 year stint in London where I also ran as a Green candidate in Haringey. I was lured here by the magic of the incredible estuary, the warmth of the people, the thriving High Street, and the excellent transport connections. As a councillor, I’d work hard to protect these.
My career to date been in charities, supporting schools to fundraise for solar panels, working for England’s largest environmental coalition, training food bank volunteers through COVID, and now working with councils to act on climate change. Critical to each of these roles has been working in partnership, a skill and passion I would bring to my role as councillor. I’d work with other local councillors to offer a green voice and achieve even more together. With three greens already on Colchester City Council, we can win in Wivenhoe, so I hope you will trust me with your vote.
